Almost every door and window frame is cracked. The front door is not hung properly and pops open on it’s own - nice to wake up in the morning and the door is wide open. We visited the house most weekends while it was being built, the contractors did not give a toss, and issues we reported along the way were impossible to get rectified. When we moved in we discovered quite by chance that the insulation was laying up in the roof still in bags, hadn’t been installed. There are also several things we asked the salesman for that were not included. Not our first time building, some issues are to be expected, but not this many.
I discussed my other cheaper quotes with them but they convinced me that they use a lot better quality, experienced trades, etc. In the end, i found it was all dishonest marketing and the materials and qualities they used were exactly the same as many others. I confess that i made the biggest mistake in my life resulting in around a $25k loss. We are looking to build with Distinctive homes in the near future. Two of my friends have had good experiences with them. They seem to be honest and have quoted a very good amount for their top specification.

All the other builders in the area have spread their garbage far and wide. But I can say that we were visiting the building site a couple of times a week and we have a great foreman on site. Friends of ours also built around the same time with them and had no end of troubles but eventually everything got sorted out. We designed the house ourselves and Weeks quote was way more competitive than other companies.
Very deceptive company, first question they will ask you is have you build a home before, if the answer is no, they will start to rip you off. They do not deliver on time nor on quality. Be careful with the finish, first think to discuss is colour selection and the level of the finish. I had awful experience with them, never wish it for anybody else to have same. We had our house custom built and it was one of the easiest experiences for us.

The designs are practical and current and very inviting. We have dealt with SA Designer Homes on many occasions and have found their work to be of an exceptional standard. Their communication is fantastic and we look forward to dealing with them in the future. As for inclusions, they are all top notch, but you can bring your own, easy. As they send you out to the suppliers, ( no ultra limited 'showroom'), you can easy get off-range stuff. The supplier will give you a ballpark cost, and Format will send you the final figures.
He seemed to only know how to deal with one type of customer – heaven help you if you're not run of the mill. The sales guy kept wanting us to have things we didn't want, like an undermount sink, and glossy vinyl edging on our cupboards, but now that we're past him, things are great. I'm correcting the first draught of working drawings, and there are only minor issues so far. We were very impressed that they allow you to build anything you like.

PS. We are having custom robes, pantry and linen press fit -outs done. Saved a lot by getting another firm to do that. They build you a proper strong house, not a flim-flam. Plus all the silver and gold sticker tiles at beaumonts are in their range – we got commercially rated, very attrctive non-slip and everything for no extra. My building inpector is VERY happy bcuz he never has to nit-pick them. The door handles were all installed higher than I specified, so they immediately took them all off and re-installed. Few hiccups, and you have to ring them for updates, and go look yourself, but that's any builder.
I built two homes
We weren't thrilled with the initial salesperson, but our customer liaison guy is fantastic. Every question promptly dealt with so far. I recommend the company to anyone who is interested in a custom job – they have designers they work with, or you could engage your own architect.
We look forward to the relationship of first home owners and builder. Darren was very approachable which meant communication during this build was excellent. Darren made recommendations at certain stages of the build which was highly appreciated. I also had access to the tradies at different times. Integrity were easy to work with from the beginning to end. Excellent finishing and quality of work.

It was a process that we had to manage the entire time – it's like having a second job. We had items redone over and over again and we are still finding th ings. They routinely do something wrong and try to "patch" the error vs. doing it correctly the first time. I am currently building with Format Homes, and I can't fault them. The level of inclusions was excellent, we received many contract variations that were credits. This included footings, kitchen, and 6 star energy ratings.
Post handover queries were handled promptly and follow up communication has been fantastic. The workmanship and build quality is of a very high standard and the finished product is wonderful. I am extremely happy with my first home and would highly recommend Integrity, to anyone building in the Limestone Coast.
Dean and Felicity made my first building experience very enjoyable! Felicity was extremely supportive and professional, she was always happy to answer any questions and kept me well informed as the build progressed. Dean was very accommodating with changes I wanted to make mid-build and made suggestions to suit the vision I had for the house.
Jamie was as helpful as he could be but the overwhelming arrogance & lies from Charles was enough to regret ever staring with him. Tradies seemed very unhappy – We started asking them about experience with him – perhaps our job was a one off – none had a good word to say about working with Charles. NEVER BUILD WITH CHARLES SAVAGE CONSTRUCTIONS. We used him as we knew him through someone, which has made this scenario even more difficult. It has been surprising the amount of negative experience we have heard about after the fact. Only wish we had done more homework before committing.
